This Entrepreneur-Turned-Adventurer Is Chasing Dreams for His Audience

As long as humans have gazed into the unknown, they’ve felt the pull to explore it, to tell stories about the people daring enough to do so. However, what is now the modern concept of online adventure content has made adventuring a real profession to be pursued, shared, and vicariously enjoyed by a global audience.

Today, the stories of daring adventure and challenge are true. Having always obeyed his urge to seek out adventure, Felix first turned his energies to entrepreneurial service in the health sector. Now that the dream of building a successful company has been achieved, he is free to follow his adventure dreams and bring his audience with him.

From the Health Sector to the Open Sea

Felix had early success in entrepreneurship, starting his first company at age 18 and using the profit to fund his mechanical engineering and business administration education. He studied in Munich, worked in Silicon Valley, and eventually started another business in Boston while serving as a visiting researcher at MIT. His most significant contributions, however,  came during the pandemic.

First, as the Chief of Staff of Quantgene (a health company focused on detecting cancer at its early stages), he helped build a unit around Covid testing. Then, he started his own business, Sameday Health, which grew to a team of 2000 and helped over 3 million Americans with COVID testing, vaccination, and medical support.

Now, he’s free and chasing the adventure of which he has always dreamed. His exploits tend to have an environmental angle, taking him into the wild to explore and experience the world in new ways. He took on skydiving in Dubai, completing his first solo jump after ten days of training. in another popular video, Felix spent 24 hours alone at sea. The video is marked by tension, wonder, and moments of serenity. His adventure content has a unique draw to his audience, who enjoy his personality and thoughts, but also experience a vicarious thrill through his adventures.

Recent Exploits: Seeing the World from Above

“Ever since I was a kid, it has been a dream of mine to take on the skies,” says Felix as the video begins, and “Bucket List Item #6: Private Pilot License” appears overlaid on the view from a small plane’s cockpit. The video is a 30-day challenge, showing Felix traveling to the Czech Republic to take classes and get his flight hours. The first day is exciting, as Felix rapidly learns a tremendous amount of information and takes off into the air for the first time.

The video is so much more than just reaction content. Felix takes the time to explain what he’s learning, tells his audience about his theories, and opens up about how challenging the process is in fact. His confidence varies, as he worries he “bit off more than I can chew,” early on, but his infectious excitement grows throughout the video. It’s an adventure well worth watching.

Remembering the Love of Adventure

People get used to suppressing their desire for adventure. It usually serves as just a distraction from their offices, their commutes, and their responsibilities. Felix and adventurers like him remind people that the world is full of experiences. There are exciting things to be done, places to go, sights to be seen, and incredible experiences to be had.

People’s day-to-day responsibilities are usually too significant to drop, so they can obey some resurgent urge to go out to sea or take to the skies, but it’s easier to go to YouTube and watch Felix on his adventures. There’s something liberating about taking some small part in his freedom. It’s powerful, and it’s important.
